The Nomad Zen and the Wired Remote

I have been in possession of the Nomad Zen and the wired remote for about a week now. It took ages to get it, as using courier is mainly more hassle than fun, but atleast it is here.

My first impression is that the remote is actually very good. It is small, light and has the basic features that one needs when the Zen is strapped to the belt, deep into a pocket or some other place out of immediate reach. Its blue backlight makes it possible to use also in darkness.

The FM radio works OK as long as the antenna (the cable) is hung the way an antenna should. No RDS makes it hard to figure out what you are listening too though.

There are some downsides to it. The design is squeaky plastic-fantastic, and the clip is not strong enough - making the remote to 'fall off' quite rapidly.

I haven't tried to use the microphone yet, but I am sure that is fun. :) Infact the entire remote looks slightly like a tiny real microphone. *cute* All in all; a great buy!
